Dive into the wonders of the Great Southern Reef and uncover the hidden treasures of one of the world’s most vibrant marine ecosystems. This immersive 3hr experience takes you deep into the reef’s rich biodiversity, where you'll learn about its critical natural values, the unique species that call it home, and some of the challenges it faces. This activity is completed with our fantastic hands on kite making activity where you can transfer something about what you have learnt onto the kite and watch it fly!
Located in the Pavilions downstairs 'The Bella' function room, and guided by Aurora Surf's lead facilitator and teacher of 20+ years, you will engage with Great Southern Reef Foundations teaching and learning resources in a more formal, interactive setting, supported by multimedia displays that showcase exceptional underwater footage of the reef’s colourful marine life Kelp forests and sponge gardens.
This experience is designed to inspire, educate, and spark climate positive conversations around the reef’s conservation. Aimed at Junior to Middle years secondary aged people, expect to discover a wealth of knowledge and insights, from the intricate workings of the Great Southern Reef ecosystem through to the actions we can take to protect it.
